    Class CMAA2Pass

    CMAA2 — Conservative Morphological Anti-Aliasing 2 (compute, render-graph version).

A high-quality, non-temporal alternative to TAAPass: no camera jitter, no history, and therefore no ghosting under motion — the failure mode TAA is prone to. Two compute passes: local-contrast-adaptive symmetric edge detection, then an analytic morphological resolve (edge-span search + MLAA midpoint coverage). "Conservative" because the local-contrast test suppresses edges in busy/textured regions, so text and fine detail stay crisp where FXAA/SMAA would over-soften.

Reads and rewrites the HDR target; needs neither depth, velocity, nor a jittered camera, so it slots into any pipeline (forward, forward+, deferred).

    Properties

    name: "CMAA2Pass" = 'CMAA2Pass'

Human-readable identifier used in graph node labels and error messages.

    Methods

    • Insert the pass into graph for one frame. Implementations call graph.addPass(name, type, b => { ... }) exactly once and use the supplied PassBuilder to declare reads, writes, transient resources, and the execute callback.

      Parameters

      • graph: RenderGraph

        Graph being built this frame.

      • deps: CMAA2Deps

Pass-specific dependency record (handles, scene data, etc.).

      Returns CMAA2Outputs

Pass-specific output record (typically a set of handles downstream passes will consume).

    • Release every long-lived GPU resource owned by the pass (pipelines, persistent uniform buffers, samplers, BGLs). Called by the factory or application during teardown. Default implementation is a no-op.

      Returns void
